Military Child Development Centers (CDC’s)
Child Development Centers (CDCs) are childcare centers that offer care for children in age-appropriate stimulating environments from ages six weeks to Kindergarten. The Philosophy of the CDC is one based on “hands-on” active learning. These center-based programs allow opportunities for children to socialize with one another in a creative and enriching environment. The belief here is that the work of children is play, and it is through play that children naturally learn and understand important concepts pertaining to the real world. CDC’s offer a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth of young children. Our nation’s military does an excellent job of creating world-class CDC’s for the children of those who are serving our country. And lately, we have seen an interest in incorporating more natural play into these outdoor learning environments by the staff within the respective military branches that oversee the construction and programs of these CDCs.
Natural playgrounds give children a sense of freedom that stimulates their capacity for creativity and are a fun way for children to fully reap the benefits of outdoor play while tapping into the energy of the natural world.
PDPlay has provided natural and outdoor learning environments to military child development centers all over the U.S. We are currently the only commercial playground manufacturer located in California and our products are manufactured in San Diego, CA.
PDPlay has completed projects across the country! We’ve built beautiful play structures on military bases in California, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii and more! We really enjoy doing these projects for our nation’s military. It gives everyone at PDPlay a great deal of pride to know that we can play a small part in helping to support those who to choose to serve their country.
